The cleverness Hellcat lineup is one that all muscle car fans will love to see racing down a drag strip. Now fans can, thanks to Wheels on YouTube, which shares some of the best Dodge Hellcat rides of all in a competitive race. The Dodge Charger Hellcat Daytona and Challenger Hellcat compete in an extremely tight race.
The Charger Daytona tries to gain an advantage
Even before reaching the starting line, the Hellcat Charger Daytona tries to gain an advantage. It shows off by spinning its rear wheels, which creates an immense sound. When the driver then pulls forward, he will face the Challenger until the track team tells them to back off.
Still, the Daytona doesn’t deter the Challenger, as the Challenger is by far the first to escape the starting line. The race begins and the Hellcat Challenger leaves the Daytona behind. The Hellcat Challenger has an additional 83 top horsepower, with a maximum output of 800 horsepower from its Supercharged 6.2-liter Hemi SRT V8 engine. The Daytona can offer up to 717 horsepower, which is still pretty epic.
Which Hellcat won?
While the Hellcat Challenger manages to pull away and leave the Daytona standing, it’s pretty clear who’s going to win the race within the first or two seconds. Of course, the Hellcat Challenger outperforms the Hellcat Charger Daytona with an impressive time of 12.15 seconds. The Challenger’s top speed reaches an impressive 122.39 mph. Meanwhile, the Dodge Charger Daytona’s time is slightly slower, although it was dramatically left behind at the start, with a time of 12.30 seconds. The Daytona’s top speed was 118.29 mph.
Therefore, the extra horsepower would have given the Challenger the edge. While the Daytona felt like showing off at the starting line, it certainly didn’t deter the Challenger. In fact, it probably gave it more reason to want to be the winner. The times were very close, but the Challenger did steal first place.
All in all it was an epic race. It’s incredibly exciting to watch two Dodge Hellcats compete for first place in a drag race. After a lot of high revving noises and incredible speed, the Challenger wins the race reasonably well.
