TERRE HAUTE, Ind. – Head coach Curt Mallory and the Indiana state soccer program announced the soccer schedule for 2022 Tuesday morning. The 11-game series will feature six home games at Memorial Stadium, including a Thursday night opener against North Alabama, to mark the year ahead.

Overall, the Sycamores will face three non-conference opponents this season with a few first-timers on the schedule. Indiana State’s season-opening game against North Alabama will be the first game between the two programs, while the September 17 game against Montana will also be an inaugural game.

“It’s another competitive program and we’re looking forward to getting back on the field,” said Mallory. “We have finished the season on a high and I am delighted to have our boys back and continuing to work hard this spring as we prepare for the year ahead.”

The 2022 home opener is set for Thursday, September 1, when the Sycamores host the Lions at Memorial Stadium. The following Saturday, ISU makes its only non-conference road trip to West Lafayette, Ind. while the Sycamores take on Purdue at Ross-Ade Stadium.

The final game of the non-conference schedule for 2022 comes on September 17 and will feature the first matchup between Indiana State and Montana in each program’s respective history. The game marks the first of a home-and-home series between the Sycamores and the Grizzlies, with ISU making the return journey in 2025.

After a farewell week, Indiana State dives into the Missouri Valley Football Conference game on Oct. 1 as the Sycamores make the trip to Cedar Falls, Iowa to face Northern Iowa. It will be the first game between the two teams since the 2019 season, as the teams were not on the schedule last season.

The ISU home opener on October 8 comes against the defending FCS National Champion North Dakota State and sets up an alternate home-away format for the remainder of the regular season.

The remainder of the 2022 home schedule includes home games against Illinois State (October 22 – Homecoming), North Dakota (November 5), and Missouri State (November 19 – Senior Day).

Road trips include treks to Youngstown State (October 15), South Dakota State (October 29), and Western Illinois (November 12).

Ticket prices and show times will be announced later.
