Dive back into action on Thursday at IUPUI

MUNCIE, Ind. – – The Ball State Dive Program will kick off the long run to the 2022 Mid-American Conference Championships on Thursday, when it travels to the IUPUI Natatorium for a doubles game with the Jaguars at 2 p.m.

It will be the first meeting for Cardinals’ divers since the IUPUI House of Champions, held November 18-20.

So far this season, a few Ball State divers have already made the NCAA Zone Diving Qualifying marks. The first was junior Wyatt Blake who starred in his 2021-22 home debut, winning the 1M league with a score of 320.10 against Miami (October 28).

The next was freshman Ashleigh Provan who secured her spot with a 1M score of 276.00 in her Lewellen Aquatic Center debut against Ohio (October 30).

The men’s NCAA Zone Diving Standards are 300 at 1M and 320 at 3M, while the women’s points to beat are 265 at 1M and 280 at 3M.

For his effort against the RedHawks, Blake was named the Mid-American Conference Men’s Diver of the Week. In addition, senior Hunter Ongay has twice been named MAC Men’s Diver of the Week this season (October 21 and November 24).
