Matchroom Nineball is pleased to announce the addition of the Kremlin Cup to the Nineball World Rankings, in addition to two events from the US National Billiards League (NBL), expanding the Nineball schedule globally.
The Kremlin Cup is one of the most prestigious tournaments on the calendar and will switch from 10-ball to 9-ball following the announcement of the Matchroom Nineball World Rankings and will be showcased in Moscow, Russia, from August 23-28 this year. . There will be 198 players competing for a guaranteed prize pool of $50,000 with the tournament open to everyone and an entry fee of just $150 for over 18s and $100 for under 18s.
The Cup is known as one of the biggest on the WPA calendar with players traveling to Russia from all over the world to compete with past winners including World No.2 David Alcaide, current World Pool Masters champion Alexander Kazakis and two-time Mosconi Cup winner Tyler Styer of the USA.
The National Billiards League, which also plans to move from 10-ball to 9-ball, continues to grow in the US with two tournament ranking events that award placement in the Nineball World Rankings.
NBL will host two Sandcastle 9-Ball Open tournaments that will contribute to the Nineball World Rankings and provide players with the opportunity to make their mark on the rankings and the opportunity to grow.
