ELON, NC— Elon women’s basketball will be back on the road January 21-23 to take on Northeastern and Hofstra. Tipoff for each match is scheduled at 6pm and 1pm

-Elon leads the overall series against the Huskies, 7-5.
-The Phoenix has a three-game winning streak against the Pride, with an all-time record of 12-3.

-The Phoenix (9-4, 1-2 CAA) took his first Colonial Athletic Association (CAA) win of the season on Jan. 14, with a 65-60 win over College of Charleston.
–Brie Perpignan led the team in scoring with 22 points in addition to matching its season high in rebounds (8).
–Kayla Liles posted her first double-double of the season and second of her career, scoring a season-high 17 points and grabbing a career-high 11 rebounds. She also equaled her personal best with seven steals, in addition to five assists and a block. The guard’s boards and steals marked the best this season for another season for an auburn and gold player.
-The win was the 14th straight win against the Cougars (22-14), a streak dating back to 2012.
-The Phoenix is 6-0 at home this season, making it the best home start since the 2017-18 season, when the Maroon and Gold went unbeaten at home (13-0).
-The maroon and gold is led by 11e– year head coach Charlotte Smith, the most winning coach in the program’s history.
SCOUTING NORTH EAST
-Northeastern goes into the weekend with an 8-6 (2-2 CAA) record.
-The Huskies fell on both Drexel and Delaware last weekend on January 14 and 16.
In their last game against the Blue Hens, Emily Calabrese scored a team-high 18 points, one short of a career-high, while Kendall Currence followed with 13.
-The Huskies were picked to finish 10th in the preseason CAA poll. Currence was named All-CAA honorable mention preseason.
Northeastern is led by Bridgette Mitchell.
-Just like on January 20, Hofstra has a record of 3-8 (0-3 CAA). The Pride takes on William & Mary on January 21 before taking on the Phoenix.
-Hofstra fell to Drexel in his most recent match on January 16 (53-72). Jaylen Hines finished the game with a team-high 16 points, including 12 points in the second half, for her seventh double-digit performance of the season. Hines also set the pace in the Pride in rebounds (6) in addition to posting Hofstra’s only two steals.
-The Pride placed fifth in the CAA’s preseason poll. JaKayla Brown was selected to the Preseason All-CAA Second Team.
-Hofstra’s head coach is Danielle Santos Atkinson.
-Athletic events in Northeastern will be held without spectators until further notice.
-Hofstra welcomes fans to his home basketball games. However, guests over 12 years old are required to show proof of full vaccination. More information about their policies can be found here.
