Cut to stay undefeated

Race 7 on Aqueduct’s Friday Card is a $55,000 Starter Optional Claimant and Robert Ribaudo’s clipped seems to have a bright future.

a daughter of Chosen In, she had shown a lot of ability on Belmont Park in the days leading up to her job and distance debut last month. Relatively thoughtless in the market, she brushed aside the lack of market support to score impressively.

Despite getting quite a bump in the break, she kept up the pace along the backstretch before starting a run at the five-sixteenth, kicking away under steady handling by Trevor McCarthy score with three lengths.

Given McCarthy’s tender handling in deep thrust, that effort can be greatly upgraded. She is open to any level of progress and running on Lasix for the first time could be another catalyst for improvement.

The figure she got on her debut marks her as the person to beat as she will face winners for the first time and a tie in stable five isn’t a negative considering the field of seven runners. McCarthy has won 20% of his last 50 rides and his supreme confidence can help this filly come home to the front.

Inouaintalkintome to score

Race 3 is a $35,000 Maiden Claiming Contest and Inouaintalkintome seems to have been found a great opportunity by trainer Robert Falcone.

She has yet to strike in four career outings, which have seen her make some disappointing attempts to start her career. Switch to aqueduct as her two most recent starts have brought a significant improvement, but she was knocked over track and distance in December.

Despite finishing third on her most recent start, she took the best grade of her career and finished well ahead of the rest. She has been kept in the same class for this start and has been handily pulled onto the rails.

She retains Ailsa Morrison’s ten-pound claim and has twice defeated one of her main rivals. The misery of love. Much better signed than the main market rival Phenomenal woman, she can use the inner route with devastating effect, losing her first name.

Action from wide

Race 5 Is A $22,000 Claims Contest And The Widest Post May Not Be Enough To Stop Oscar Barrera’s Cause of the action of making the frame.

He has won four of his 22 starts to date and won a few claim races on aqueduct early 2021. On the last occasion, he stole a $44,000 race on the bob with a strong late wave.

Four consecutive starts fell short of that high standard, but there were positives to take, even when they had fallen to this figure last time.

He was forced to walk five into the piece and despite having to circle the field, he nearly got up for the show and missed by a narrow margin. The fact that he was sent away as favorite that day speaks volumes about his back class and he faces similar rivals today.

A wide draw is negated by the fact that he likes to race off the pace and if the holes are kinder to him on this occasion he will be very difficult to stay out of the frame under Herman Harkie.
