Kentucky vs. Auburn: Live Stream, Watch Online, TV Channel, Prediction, Pick, Basketball Match Odds, Spread

Saturday’s college basketball action tops the list of the current two favorites to win the SEC. The Tigers (17-1, 6-0 SEC) have racked up 14 consecutive wins and narrowly missed the No. 1 position this week for the first time in the history of the program. But the Wildcats (15-3, 5-1 SEC) are also rising.

The UK has won eight of the last nine and could even top the conference standings with the Tigers if it wins. A year ago, both Kentucky and Auburn struggled through losing seasons in which both programs finished in the bottom half of the SEC standings, just one season after finishing first and second. Key to their simultaneous resurgence was the excellent play of transfers and the emergence of freshman stars.

The Tigers are led by five-star freshman forward Jabari Smith, and their next three top scorers are each of the sophomore transfers that tie in seamlessly. Kentucky’s leading scorer and leading rebounder, Oscar Tshiebwe, is a transfer, as are its top three-pointer, Kellan Grady, and its primary point guard, Sahvir Wheeler. UK’s No. 2 3-point shooter and secondary point guard is five-star freshman TyTy Washington, the reigning CBS Sports/USBWA Freshman of the Week.

Veteran coaches Bruce Pearl of Auburn and John Calipari seem to have nailed the roster this season by finding the right mix of transfers, freshmen and returning staff to thrive in college basketball. With Auburn not slated to return to Kentucky this season, Saturday’s showdown between the two could be the only chance we get to pit two of college basketball’s most exciting squads against each other.

Kentucky vs. Auburn forecast, choices

Featured game | Auburn Tigers vs. Kentucky Wildcats

Auburn Arena should be completely unhinged for this game as the Tigers are chasing a win that would capture the attention of the AP voters who narrowly prevented them from reaching No. 1 last week. The Kentucky attack has been making impressive forays lately, but the Auburn guards should be annoying enough to disrupt the flow of the Wildcats. On the inside, Walker Kessler’s height should prevent Oscar Tshiebwe from dominating. In the end, home advantage will make all the difference in a close Auburn win. Prediction: Auburn 76, Kentucky 71
