OBS postpones January 24 Under Tack Show to 10 a.m.

The start of the Under Tack Show for the Ocala Breeders’ Sales Company’s Winter Mixed Sale’s Horses of Racing Age section has been pushed back one hour to 10:00 a.m. ET Jan. 24 due to a forecast of unusually cold temperatures early in the day.

There are 115 horses cataloged in the Racing Age section, with hip numbers 251-329 in the original printed Winter Mixed Sale catalog. A printed supplemental catalog, including Racing Age Supplements hip numbers 330-362, is now available on the sales site and can be viewed on the OBS website. Additional Racing Age supplements have added hip numbers 363-365. Their catalog pages are also available on the website and in printed form from the sales office.

Supplemental catalog marking is Hip 349, fifth birthday , a 3-year-old daughter of run happy —My Lady Lauren , by means of Hard spun . She came second in the Woodbine Cares Stakes last year, winning a Gulfstream Park claim compensation optional race January 19 on the track’s new synthetic surface in track record time for approximately five furlongs (:55.90).


The Under Tack Show will be streamed live through the OBS website at obssales.com and through the Blood-Horse website. The Under Tack Show will be recorded and can be viewed on the website, in its entirety or by individual hip number. Videos will also be available in the Video Room, as well as several kiosks in the breezeway and covered walkway. Visitors to Ocala will find the videos available to view in-room at The Courtyard by Marriott, Holiday Inn & Suites, Homewood Suites, Hampton Inn & Suites, Residence Inn and the Ocala Hilton, and lounges can be viewed at the Hilton . Under Tack Show, the results will be posted on the OBS website.

The Winter Mixed Sale catalog can be viewed through the OBS website. The website’s searchable and sortable main index provides links to under tack videos, family tree and sender information, as well as family tree updates that have occurred since the catalog was printed. It has also been updated to allow for the creation of a shortlist. A link to instructions on how to use the new features can be found in the index header and a step-by-step tutorial is also available in the index.

The iPad version of the entire catalog is available through the Equineline Sales Catalog app. The app allows users to download and view the catalog, record notes and also offers innovative search, sorting and rating functions. OBS offers Online Bidding again during the Winter Mixed Sale. Buyers can go to the OBS website and register to get bidding approval, then proceed to the OBS bidding screen with their credentials. The sale kicks off January 25 at 11 a.m. with snazzy numbers 1-206 cataloged in the Consignor Preferred Session. The Horses of Racing session, cataloged as hip numbers 251-65, begins immediately after the preference session ends. The Open Session, cataloged with Hip numbers 451-649, is scheduled for January 26 and also starts at 11am

Up-to-date information on OBS sales, consignors and graduates is now also available through social media sites Facebook and Twitter. A link on the homepage directs users to both sites.

Sales results will be available on the OBS website, which will be updated hourly during each session of the Winter Mixed Sale.
