I don’t want to play this format: Tamim Iqbal

Speaking to the press on Saturday, Bangladesh Cricket Board President Nazmul Hasan said he was in talks with Tamim Iqbal about his return to the national side for T20Is. Hasan revealed that the 32-year-old player said he doesn’t want to play that format.

“Tamim has played well and he is always good. When I spoke to him last time you can say that I requested him to return to T20Is. I spoke to him on the phone and he just said ‘Please don’t push me, because of course if you push me I have to go back, but I don’t want to play in this format’ After listening to this I felt there was no point in asking him (reconsidering his decision) because if someone doesn’t have any format wants to play, there’s no point in forcing him to play,” said Nazmul Hasan.
