Highly decorated newcomer Lori Jo Turner impresses in Mesquite

When Lori Jo Turner changed her zip code from Wyoming to Mesquite over the summer, she also brought a world-class bowling pedigree to the Virgin River Bowling Center.

And her arrival for the 2021-22 season also heralded a seismic shift in women’s bowling, with the VRBC now set to feature a trifecta of legitimate premier bowling talents.

And what makes Turner’s dazzling success and bowling skills even more impressive is the fact that she didn’t start the sport until she turned 41 years old.

And just so you know we’re not hyped for her bowling skills, here’s a quick look at a sample of the standout success she enjoyed competing in scratch singles events in her age group in a number of major tournaments.

For starters, she took home the gold at the 2019 National Senior Games in Albuquerque, New Mexico, won the Women’s Masters in Bangkok, Thailand in 2020, finished 3rd in the Women’s Masters in Dubai in 2019 and captured also gold in the 2021 Huntsman World Senior Games.
