The Bristol Press – Imagine Nation Holds Fourth Annual ‘Bowling Pins, Pizza & Prizes Fun-Raiser’

BRISTOL – Imagine Nation invites families and corporate teams to join Spare Time Entertainment on February 27 for the fourth annual “Bowling Pins, Pizza & Prizes Fun-Raiser”.

Teams can now register for the event, which will be held from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the bowling alley at 177 Farmington Ave. Proceeds from the event will raise money for STEAM (science, technology, engineering, art and math) educational workshops and at Imagine Nation, located at 1 Pleasant St.

“This fun-raiser will support the Boys & Girls Club and especially the activities of Imagine Nation,” said Doreen Stickney, director of development at Imagine Nation. “We’ve reduced our in-person activities and workshops, and we’re offering birthday parties and field trips again this year. So far everything is going well.”

Stickney said the event was great fun for everyone involved.

“Spare Time does a great job – everyone is having a great time,” she said. “There will be music and every lane will be decorated for the teams.”

The event includes lunch with pizza and soft drinks. There will also be a teacup auction and raffle, with prizes including an overnight stay and more. Tickets are $5 for three chances to win. Tickets will be sold at the event.

Teams have already been formed, with supporters like Thomaston Savings Bank and Ultimate Wire Forms, Inc.

“We have a mix of both returning teams and some new teams,” said Stickney.

Teams that sign up are encouraged to dress up.

“The spiciest team wins a pizza party for their team,” Stickney said.

Each bowler will also receive a gift, compliments of End 2 End Promotions.

Stickney thanked the sponsors who make the “Bowling Pins, Pizza & Prizes Fun-Raiser” possible, including the presenting sponsor the Arthur G. Russell Company, the Henderson Family and the Laviero family, who are the lunch sponsor.

There are additional sponsorship opportunities.

For $500, a team can sign up as a “strike sponsor,” giving them recognition in the company newsletter and website, event signage, and bowling for six bowlers along with pizza and soda.

For $175, a team can sign up to sponsor a “pin club,” which covers six-bowl bowling, event signage, pizza, and soda.
