College Basketball Odds: Wisconsin-Nebraska Prediction, Odds, Picks & More

This Big Ten matchup will be shown Thursday night in the NCAA! It’s time to continue our college basketball odds streak with a Wisconsin-Nebraska prediction and pick.

Wisconsin comes out of what is considered a disturbance by the state of Michigan, last time 86-74. They dropped three places in the rankings and dropped to number 11. They are (15-3) in the season and (6-2) in the conference have a very favorable match-up ahead. Nebraska is one of two teams in the conference with a losing record (Penn State). They are just (6-13) on the year and (0-8) in the conference. Nebraska is coming off a 78-71 loss to Indiana last time.

Why Wisconsin Might Cover the Spread?

This should be an easy game for the Badgers to cover along the way. This spread is actually not as high as I predicted. Wisconsin faces the only team in the conference that everyone wishes they could play. Nebraska allows 79 points per game, which is near the bottom of the entire NCAA. It’s so bad that Wisconsin doesn’t even average 73 points per game, so that shows how easy it is to score against Nebraska. Wisconsin should have no problem covering this spread as they will likely score on them. Badgers leading scorer Johnny Davis has an average of 22.3 points per game and he should lead the team past Nebraska in this game. Wisconsin is 4-1 on the road this season and is (12-6) against the spread.

Why Nebraska Might Cover the Spread?

Believe it or not, the Cornhuskers are 9-10 against the spread this season, which isn’t a bad sign. Even though they have six wins and a majority of them came early in the season, they still have a chance to turn things around. The problem is, they’ve lost nine of their last 10 games and just aren’t playing well at all. They feature an elite scoring threat in Bryce McGowens, averaging 15.7 points per game. He and Alonzo Verge Jr. a solid duo, as he averages 14.3 points and 5.5 assists per year. His 5.5 assists are 20th in the NCAA and first in the conference.

Nebraska has a chance to cover this spread if they can contain Davis on Wisconsin. If they force him to take hard shots and rattle him a bit, then they should be right about this game. It will take a huge effort from the whole team to make this happen. All of Nebraska’s wins came home this season.

Final prediction and selection from Wisconsin-Nebraska

This is a relatively easy choice for me. Both teams are coming off a loss, but the Cornhuskers have lost six consecutive games. Wisconsin is going to try to get revenge for having one of their worst outings of the season. Take the Badgers on the road in this one.
