Polson

The Polson Senior Center, located at 504 Third Ave. E., is open on weekdays from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Lunch is available on weekdays from 11:45 AM to 12:30 PM. Memberships (ages 50 and up) are available on a voluntary basis for $15 per year. Individuals and small groups are always welcome for lounging, puzzling, reading, card or board games, billiards, etc. Call us with your questions at 406-883-4735, or send an email to polsonseniorcenter@gmail.com.

This year is the 50th anniversary of our Polson Senior Center. We look back on a big party. If you have stories or photos from previous years, please let us know. Our historian and directors begin to put together an exhibit for us to share. If you had or have relatives who were active in the center, please let us know.

Activities

Exercise class: Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 10:30 AM to 11:30 AM. (low impact; seated, if desired)

Bridge: postponed. Normally Tuesday and Friday. Call or come in to get on the player list.

Mahjong: Wednesday 12:30 pm.

Pinochle: Thursday 12.30 pm. We play 3-5 hands per table. Guidance available.

Bingo: Friday 7pm.

February 4: Veterans Representative from 10 a.m. to noon.

Complimentary tax filing services for seniors will be available from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. starting Feb. 3 and every Monday and Thursday through April 14 thereafter. Call for an appointment or walk in for more information.

Pool: Come in and practice for possible weekly free and open daytime pool tournaments; ages 50-plus; younger if supervised by a parent or grandparent. Bring a friend and come play some games. Organized weekly pool games are scheduled based on interest. Practice weekdays from 8am to 11:30am and from 12:30pm to 3pm.

Meals

Lunch is served at the Centre, takeaway or home delivery, from 11:45am to 12:30pm Monday to Friday. If you are a new customer, please call 406-883-4735 for information about payment arrangements. Meals cost $5.

Wednesday, January 26: Fried chicken, dressing, mixed vegetables, cranberry salad and lemon pudding.

Thursday, January 27: Polish dog, macaroni with cheese, corn, sauerkraut salad and a brownie.

Friday, January 28: Roast beef, potatoes and gravy, green beans, peach and pretzel salad, and birthday cake.

Monday January 31: Beef noodle soup, sandwich, green salad and dump cake.

Tuesday, February 1: Goulash, baguette, creamed corn, green salad and pudding.

Wednesday, February 2: Chow mein with noodles, fruity jello, lemon bars or biscuits and gravy.

Dixon

Dixon Senior Center continues to serve our community and hope everyone stays happy and healthy. Everyone is invited to come and enjoy dinner, breakfast and/or pinochle. We also accept takeaway. Meals are served at 5:00 PM on Mondays and Thursdays. Meals are $4 per serving and can be delivered to Dixon residents upon request.

Activities

We will be taking a break from Pinochle during the winter for the safety of our seniors. It will return in the spring.

Monday January 31: Fried chicken, potatoes, vegetables, sandwiches and dessert.

Thursday, February 3: Ham-bean soup, baking bread and dessert.
