Who won the National Championships in Central Ohio?

The Delaware Hayes boys’ and girls’ swim and dive teams broke the championship drought at the OCC-Capital Division on Jan. 29 in Thomas Worthington, while the girls’ Pickerington Central won the program’s first league title at the OCC-Buckeye meet and Dublin Jerome, New Albany and Upper Arlington won the OCC-Cardinal, OCC-Ohio and OCC-Central titles respectively.

Kaitlyn Sallows and Mackenzie Carter each won two individual events to lead the Delaware girls’ team to the title, their first since 2017.

Sallows won the 200-meter freestyle in 1 minute 55.94 seconds and followed with a 100-meter butterfly (58.98). Carter won the 50 free (24.1) and 100 backstroke (58.78). Carter and Sallows were also in the winning 200 medley relay (1:50.11).

Delaware scored 307 points, beating Westerville North (222), Worthington Kilbourne (219), Westerville South (167), Dublin Scioto (104), Canal Winchester (84) and Big Walnut (78).
