UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. – The third-ranked Penn State men’s volleyball returns home to Rec Hall for the second leg of a home-and-home series against No. 13 Ohio State Sunday afternoon at 4 pm

Fans are encouraged to show their support for the Nittany Lions by wearing white for the Nittany Lions’ annual “Wear White” match.

PARKING INFORMATION
All Penn State Athletics non-football events will require a valid permit or payment of the applicable parking fee for campus lots. Complimentary parking will no longer be issued for season ticket holders.

Fans with valid Penn State University Park parking permits will be permitted to park at non-football athletics events for free, following Transportation Services parking policies and access.

Fans without a permit are encouraged to prepay for event parking at a discounted rate through ParkMobile – https://psu.parkmobile.io/. Prepayment is available through 11:59 pm the day prior to each event. Season packages will be available for general parking for most sports, and information on VIP parking options available for select events will be released later.

MATCH NOTES AND STATS

  • Penn State bumped up one spot to third in this week’s AVCA coaches poll, which is tied for its highest ranking in the 2021-22 season. The Nittany Lions were also picked third in the Off the Block media poll last Tuesday, March 8.
  • The Nittany Lions are riding a 10-match win streak, the longest active win streak in DI-II men’s volleyball, which included a Tuesday night 3-0 win at Ohio State. Penn State’s streak started back on Jan. 29 with its five-set thriller over Long Beach and have an 8-0 record in EIVA play sprinkled in. For the whole season, PSU is unbeaten at home with an 8-0 mark.
  • Senior Setter Cole Bogner is putting together another MVP caliber season for the Nittany Lions. His 591 assists are 3rd most in the country and his 10.37 assists per set ranks 6th nationwide while PSU is hitting .323 as a team, also 6th best in the country.
  • Senior opposite Cal Fishero continues to dominate at the right pin for the Nittany Lions, leading the team with 199 kills, including 12 matches of double-digit kills. He also has 32 aces this season, which ranks T4th in the nation. He also leads the team with 2.04 digs per set.
  • Senior outside hitter Brett Wildman has been integral in PSU’s 10-match win streak with eight double-digit kill matches to average 12.3 kills per match in the streak. He has been excellent on the left pin and from the back row with 196 kills at a .347 clip. He is also second on the team with 19 service aces.
  • Sophomore Toby Ezeonu’s physical presence has taken over matches this season both offensively and defensively. He is hitting .500 with 111 kills, good for third on the team. He also has 51 blocks, including 19 in the last three matches.
  • Senior middle blocker Sam Marsh has also had an impactful season both offensively and defensively with 80 kills, .385 H%, and 39 blocks. He was named AVCA National Player of the Week Jan. 18 after a 19-kill, .783 H% weekend vs. Grand Canyon, including a 12-12 start on his attacks.
  • Red shirt senior libero Will Bantle is PSU’s competitive heartbeat and defensive rock. One of the nation’s best passers, he has a .986 serve-receive percentage (291-295) and a team-leading 116 digs and 2.04 digs per set.
  • Traditional Big Ten rivals, Penn State and Ohio State meet again in their storied rivalry. PSU leads the all-time series 77-39-1, including 3-of-4 wins in 2021 and four-straight wins over Ohio State overall.
