EKU Beach Volleyball Comes Up Short In A Pair Of Matches On The Final Day In Charleston
The Colonels hit the road for UNC Wilmington for a midweek duel against the Seahawks on Tuesday. First-serve is scheduled for 1 pm

Eastern Kentucky University’s beach volleyball team fell in a pair of matches on the final day in Charleston.The Colonels (0-7) fell in the opening match, 5-0, to Florida Gulf Coast before falling to Coastal Carolina in a close contest, 3-2.
In match one, the number two and four pairings both forced a third and decisive set before falling in close contests.
In match two, the Colonels gave Coastal Carolina all they wanted.
Elizabeth Fonvielle and Maddy Campbell got the Colonels on the board early sweeping its match in straight sets, 21-18 and 21-18.
The number one pairing of Shannon Stone and Hannah Keating put another point on the board for EKU. The duo fell behind early falling in the first set. They bounced back and took the second set, 24-22, before taking the third and final set, 18-16.
Paityn Walker and Sarah Mitchell took an early lead over the number two pairing of Coastal Carolina winning the first set, 21-19. The Chanticleers duo answered back taking the second set, 21-12, to even the contest. CCU pulled out the win, winning the third set over the Colonels 17-15.
