Gardner-Webb Volleyball Adds 4 To 2022 Signing Class

BOILING SPRINGS – Gardner-Webb announced this week the addition of four student-athletes to volleyball’s 2022 signing class, as the team continues to bolster its roster ahead of year two under the guidance of head coach Eric Plunkett

The Runnin’ Bulldogs added two transfers and a pair of incoming freshmen as part of their latest haul, boosting the program’s 2022 class to a total of six signees after initially locking down two future ‘Dogs on National Signing Day in November.

The newly announced March additions include a middle blocker, outside/opposite hitter, setter and libero, a diverse cast of standout talent that will significantly reinforce the team’s depth at four key positions on the court.

Coach Plunkett: “We couldn’t be more excited to have Mikayla join the Bulldog Family as a graduate transfer! Mikayla’s experience, maturity, and athleticism will have a huge impact in our program from the get-go. She has a dynamic arm that can score all across the net, and her explosiveness and quickness help her impact opponents with her blocking.”

  • District MVP as a high school senior (2020)

Coach Plunkett: “Avery is going to add excitement and athleticism to our gym. She has shown the ability to score at a high level from either pin and is just scratching the surface of her potential. With one year of college experience under her belt, she will look to make an immediate impact with scoring for the Bulldogs.”

Coach Plunkett: “Morgan will bring quickness, size and steadiness to the setting position. She is a general on the court and will look to bring that composure and confidence to the Bulldog gym. She has great work ethic on the court, in the weight room, and in the classroom, which is a high value to our program’s culture.”
